Outdoor Recreations
Resource Services
As noted earlier,  The US Forest Service has taken inventory and started
route designations of roads and trails.  Closing thousands of miles of trails.
Too OHV .  It is inevitable that recreationists will become board with the
limited amount of space that has been allocated for OHV recreation on our
public lands.  Nothing new there.  The same old excuses are being used -
user conflicts, resource damage, unmanagable.  So don't be surprised when
you visit trail systems across the country and find the OHV recreation
opportunities are becoming sparse indeed.

Join our OHV Alert List to keep up to date on US Forest Service Land
Management and how it affects your opportunity to recreate with your
off-road motorcycle or ATV.  Send your email address to:
dirtpilotn@verizon.net with OHV Alert List in the subject line.

Past article:

The US Forest Service has been mandated to inventory trails, existing,
ghost, new, old whatever is on the ground designated or not.  By identifying
these trails they will have to be officially considered for use by motorized
recreationists according to the new forest rules.

I urge everyone to get involved.  You don't have to live near a trail to help,
you could contribute a weekend or a day.  Contact the district rangers office
let them know you want to help them with this over whelming tasks.
